Senior Service Engineer – Thermo Mass Spectrometry
Location: Boston, MA or New Jersey (Field-Based)

Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Service Engineer specializing in Thermo Mass Spectrometry instruments to support the Boston, MA area or New Jersey. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment while ensuring optimal system performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities - Install, maintain, upgrade, repair, and service mass spectrometry equipment - Perform on-site installation, commissioning, calibration, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair activities - Operate specialized testing equipment to diagnose and analyze system performance - Resolve technical issues with OEMs and customers - Train end users on system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting - Complete service documentation in compliance with company procedures - Travel throughout the assigned territory and occasionally outside the region as needed - Support additional service-related activities as assigned
Qualifications - 6+ years of field service experience supporting Thermo mass spectrometry equipment - Hands-on experience with the latest Orbitrap MS product lines - Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related field - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Experience with chromatography equipment preferred - Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and customer service skills - Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment - Experience managing service schedules, inventory, reporting, and customer response timelines - Proficiency with instrument software and Microsoft Office Suite Physical & Travel Requirements - Valid driver’s license required - Ability to travel throughout the territory for on-site customer support - Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds - Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation Compensation & Benefits - Base salary: $110,000–$140,000 annually, final compensation determined based on qualifications and experience - 401(k) with company match - Paid time off and holidays - Professional development and training opportunities - Supportive and collaborative work environment
